Community Investment Specialist

Reporting into the Manager, Member Engagement & Community Investment, the Community Investment Specialist will assist in the day-to-day operations and coordination of signature community investment programs including WFCU’s Inspire Program, as well as monthly budget reconciliations, sponsorship review, and assist in making recommendations for various initiatives.

In summary, the Community Investment Specialist will:
  • Review and coordinate sponsorship and Community Investment requests in consultation with the Manager, Member Engagement and Community Investment.
  • Work collaboratively with our Communications and Marketing team in the design, planning and execution of promotional plans that inspire the members of our communities to engage and support community investment programs, partnerships and events.
  • Refine and enhance the process to track community investment activities, gather photos, collect feedback and report on program sponsorship outcomes.
  • Prepare community investment content annual report information by partnering with our Communications and Marketing team.
  • Attend events and represent the Credit Union as needed (at times may be outside of normal business hours).
  • Prepare monthly reports regarding community investment expenditures and initiatives.
  • Administer contracts and payments between WFCU Credit Union and community partners.
The "must-have" skills and qualifications that we're looking for include the following:
  • At least 3 years experience in the not-for-profit/public or corporate sectors.
  • Post-secondary and/or continuing education related to corporate community investment and not-for-profit program management.
  • Demonstrated strengths in engaging and coordinating volunteers, customer relations, project planning and budget management.
  • Experience coordinating various not for profit programs or partnerships is required.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating various not for profit programs or partnerships.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly motivated and works well in a fast-paced, fluid environment; comfortable in an environment of continuous improvement and change.
These additional skills are also considered assets:
  • Experience working in the financial services industry.
