Reporting and Analytics Specialist

The Reporting and Analytics Specialist will provide support within the credit union by driving strategic data-informed business decisions, gathering data and information on targeted variables preparing data for analytic efforts and analyzing and communicating complex data in a simplified and insightful manner. 

In summary, the Reporting and Analytics Specialist will:

  • Analyze complex data by using their intermediate to advanced expertise in data mining, Business Intelligence, data modelling and visualization tools
  • Apply knowledge of sales and product information and data across multiple lines of business to identify operational insights and key factors that are driving business performance
  • Leverage statistics and work alongside business stakeholders to develop, customize and test solutions, solving a wide variety of business challenges
  • Work in a fast paced and deadline driven environment while adapting to changing priorities and managing multiple projects simultaneously

As the successful candidate, you’ll have responsibility for:

  • Acting as a resource for internal stakeholders by applying leading techniques, interpreting data, understanding implications for business function strategy, tactics and ongoing operations
  • Developing a close collaboration with technology partners to strengthen alignment between business data applications, implications and technical architecture
  • Ensuring accurate and timely reporting on program/project metrics while working closely with the IT department and Database Administrator 
  • Demonstrating a forward-thinking approach by anticipating and remediating potential roadblocks, comprehending the bigger picture of the business strategy
  • Identifying and recommending ways to simplify and automate processes to increase reporting productivity
  • Staying up to date with the latest technology, industry trends and industry best practices

The “must-have” skills and qualifications that we’re looking for are:

  • A degree or diploma in Mathematics, Business Administration with a concentration in Data Analytics, Computer Science or a related field
  • 3+ years of related experience
  • A logical and curious thinker who can learn new technologies, computing applications or data sources
  • Proficiency in using data mining, query, analysis, visualization and reporting tools
  • Knowledge of SQL and, for more advanced BI analyst positions that involve predictive modeling, programming languages such as Python and R
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) business processes/systems, Data Warehousing and Visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBI)
  • Excellent communication skills with executives and other internal stakeholders, catering to various levels of analytical proficiency
  • Excellent planning, organization and time management skills including the ability to support and prioritize multiple projects

These additional skills are considered assets too:

  • Experience working in the financial services industry
