Member Notice: Risk Based Authentication Upgrade – Security Question Upgrade

With incidents of fraud on the rise, WFCU Credit Union does everything we can to reduce our Members risk of fraud by continuously improving our fraud prevention systems. Effective September 12, 2018 the ‘Security Question’ feature on WFCU Credit Union’s online banking platform has been upgraded.

As part of an initiative to improve Member experience as well as improve Member security we have switched to Risk Based Authentication.  With Risk Based Authentication security questions will be asked at login randomly based on risk factor identifiers, versus the current method which allows Members to select if they would like to be asked security questions at login or not.

This change will make accessing your accounts easier, while also providing added security.  In reducing the number of times a security question is asked, it reduces the opportunity fraudsters have of being able to capture your login information, passwords and security information, and in turn increases your security.
